[Introduction to the Sacred Relic]

Legend has it that one day, while meditating, Master Kruba Krissana saw a butterfly fly by and was suddenly inspired. He cleverly used the image of two auspicious birds (birds of love and affection) to recreate the butterfly amulet (the amulet of the auspicious bird of love and affection originated from a batch of auspicious bird of love and affection amulets made from clay by Master Kruba Krissana during his time overseeing and managing the construction of Wat Mahawan). The butterfly amulet created by Master Kruba Krissana features a male and a female figure... The master interpreted the image as the celestial deity Tongue Flower and his wife, the goddess Kali. However, when it was first introduced, it was not well-received because people had never seen amulets made with butterfly imagery. But over time, many who wore them experienced significant good fortune, especially in interpersonal relationships and love. Master Kruba Krissana was skilled at using natural plant materials such as pollen and sandalwood (mong dam) ground into powder and mixed together to create amulets and other sacred objects for attracting good fortune and wealth. This is because Kruba Krissana believed that flowers possess spirits and have a strong power to attract good relationships. Sandalwood, on the other hand, is believed to have natural power to ward off and dispel curses. Therefore, Kruba Krissana used these materials to create Thai butterfly amulets, relying on the power of spirits and the master's own chanting and blessing to help the wearer. Because these plants naturally have a fragrance, their effects are similar to those of love potions, attracting good relationships for the wearer.

Butterfly amulets are a type of Thai amulet. The founder of butterfly amulets was the revered monk Kruba Krissana from northern Thailand, who is best known for creating them. The butterfly images in these amulets are incredibly lifelike, and within a few short years, they spread throughout Southeast Asia, renowned for their powerful ability to bring good fortune and popularity.

The Legend of the Butterfly Goddess

In Thailand, the butterfly goddess is called Thep-Jarm-Leng. According to Thai historical records, the butterfly goddess is depicted as a butterfly with outstretched wings. The butterfly's body is that of a goddess, while two female faces are located beneath its wings. This butterfly goddess is said to have originated in Khmer and later spread to the border between Khmer and Thailand. Then, hermits from the deep mountains of both regions joined forces to invite her to their deities and verify her practice before she was finally introduced to the border by a white-robed monk named Hunluo.

Initially, " Butterfly Gods " were not popular in Thailand because very few people could fully master the creation process and were proficient in the incantations for summoning spirits. In 2482 BE (Buddhist Era ) , a white-robed Ajahn Ralek from the northeast, along with eighty-nine other Thai masters, created approximately two hundred Butterfly God amulets. Shortly afterward, Ajahn Ralek passed away due to illness. The Butterfly God Mantra he collected later fell into the hands of no disciple, so for decades no new Butterfly God artifacts were made until Master Bhajesna remade them.

[Master's Introduction]

Kruba Khesar Namgyel was a highly respected monk from northern Thailand, born on August 1, 2497 BE (1954 AD). He was the ninth of ten siblings. As a child, he took refuge under Kruba Pu and accompanied him on his spiritual journeys to Cambodia and Laos. Kruba Khesar Namgyel officially became a monk at the age of 25, taking the Dharma name "Ithawanlu." For the next ten years, he secluded himself in the mountains to study Buddhism, Dharma, and meditation. In 2532 BE (1989 AD), he moved to a cave in Manbang Dam, Kampot Province. From a young age, he studied Buddhism under the revered northern Thai monk Kruba Pu, following him as a fellow ascetic. Their journey took them from east to north, even venturing into the mountains of Cambodia and Laos for spiritual practice.

In 2532 BE (1989 AD), Guru Kruba Jessler traveled to a sparsely populated place and discovered a cave full of spiritual energy. He then stayed in the cave to meditate for three years. During his meditation, the villagers nearby learned that a Buddhist monk was practicing in this cave, and some villagers saw strange lights appearing during his meditation. So the villagers invited the master to build a forest temple, which was named "Khuma Xiawan" in 2536 BE (1993 AD). With the help of the villagers, the temple's facilities and pool were gradually completed.

Using a pair of lovebirds and mud from a well, the master created the first batch of "Lovebird Amulets" for the villagers to acquire, which gradually improved their lives. The villagers continued to request other amulets and talismans from the master, who used his unique sacred powder, 108 kinds of sacred objects, spices, ash, incense wood powder, gold or silver talismans, gemstones, etc., and spent 1 to 5 years consecrating them to create the brightly colored and famous "Butterfly Amulets."

When the "Butterfly Amulet" was first introduced, it failed to gain widespread acceptance, mainly because no one had ever seen a brightly colored butterfly image before. The master explained that the butterfly image represented a male and a female, respectively the greatest deity in Hinduism, "Bhashava" and his wife, "Kali." There is a story associated with the master's use of the butterfly image: it is said that one night, while the master was chanting scriptures and collecting powder to prepare materials, a loud crashing sound came from inside the room. When the master opened the door, he saw a large butterfly dead in front of the door.

This butterfly is called "Dream" in Thailand (pronounced in Thai). From then on, the master was inspired to create butterfly amulets. The first batch of "Dream" butterfly amulets was completed between 2,535 and 2,536 BE (1,992 and 1,993 AD).

Many people have clearly felt the good fortune brought by wearing the butterfly amulets made by the master, especially in terms of interpersonal relationships and business and work, where there have been significant changes. The butterfly amulets made by the master have received high praise from all walks of life. In just a few years, the master's followers have spread all over Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China, etc. They also invited the master to build another temple. The master used the funds from the amulets requested by the followers to build a new temple in the "Waluwan" area of Koh Larn for the followers to worship.
