2500 Walking Buddha

In 2497 B.E., Thailand's Religious Affairs Bureau obtained the approval of the King of Thailand to build a Buddhist city in Bodham Thun that could represent the country. In the year 2500 of the Buddhist calendar, the Emperor of Thailand personally visited the Holy Land for the groundbreaking ceremony.

When the Buddhist city was built, although it received donations from many charitable businesses and benefactors, it was still not enough to meet the astronomical sums required to build the Buddhist city. Therefore, after discussion, the council decided to make amulets to raise funds. The council produced amulet for Buddhist city, and this amulet is named "Yi Sip Ha Putha Satthawat" which translates as "25th Century Buddha's Birthday". Taking the walking Buddha as the shape, the reason is that the walking Buddha symbolizes progress, prosperity, success and development.

In the 2500th year of the Buddhist calendar, on February 9th, 10th, 11th and May 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 108 contemporary eminent monks continued to bless them day and night at Wat Sutat, a total of 6 days of joint grand puja. Until the morning of May 13, 2500 of the Buddhist calendar (Vesak Day), a total of 2,500 devotees were taught the full ceremony, and the monk king presided over the ordination ceremony.

At 4:00 p.m. on May 13th, all the temples in Thailand rang the bronze bells together. A total of 2,500 eminent monks meditated and blessed, and then gathered eminent monks from all temples and temples in Thailand to bless this batch of amulet at the same time, so this batch of 2,500 Walking Buddha can be said to be a batch of amulets blessed by the most eminent monks in history.

There are three main models of this amulet, a bronze model, a tin model and a pink model.
In that year, all 2,500 walking Buddhas were cast in a total of about 5 million pieces. The following is the corresponding number of amulets of various materials:

1. Pure gold: 15

2. Sterling silver: 300

3. Gold-copper alloy: 30

4. Pink card: 2,421,250

5. Tin plate: 2,421,250

There are also some bronze molds, which are shaped like shields, and the number is unknown. But there were not many, and they were quickly completed.

As for the casting materials of this batch of amulet, it mainly collects gold, silver and tin pieces of charms cast by eminent monks in Thailand. According to the supervision method of Somdej Sangkarapi, the first pharmacist, when the tin block was melted on another day, there were several pieces that would not melt. Therefore, the cultivation of these eminent monks invulnerable to swords and guns and the indestructible body of the King Kong appeared. It has to go through the prayers of the presiding monk before it gradually melts.

As for the earth-made 2,500 walking Buddhas, they are collected from the yellow sea mud of Songkhla Province, one hundred and eight medicinal herbs and various auspicious soils, the sacred soil in front of the Mahavira Hall of Buddhist temples in Thailand, the four sacred soils of the Buddha's enlightenment in India, and ancient times. Broken amulet, made together.

Part of the materials for casting 2500 walking Buddhas : Buddha's birth, enlightenment, teaching, and death; 108 kinds of bays; Thailand's important Buddhist temples and holy land; Wat Mangan (Kun Paen Old Temple) Khun Paen Amulet Fragments and Five Ancients Buddha scraps, metal five ancient Buddhas; sutra powder and metal charms provided by high-ranking monks at the meeting; flowers for Buddha in major Buddhist temples; the soil at the base of Phra Buddha Damon Tun in Nakhon Pathom Province; ancient Buddha tablets unearthed in Thailand Crumbs; various herbs, etc.

At that time, only 15 of the 2500 walking Buddhas made of gold were produced, and now the market price has reached more than one million baht (about HK$260,000). As for the tin and earthen ones, the market price will not be very high due to the large size of the dharma assembly and sufficient raw materials, but although the price is not high and the quantity is also large, there are still many fake amulets in this period.
