💠Introduction to Sacred Objects💠

The Thousand-Armed Avalokiteshvara is one of the manifestations of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva. It is one of the Six Avalokiteshvaras, the others being: Compassionate Avalokiteshvara (rescuing beings from the hungry ghost realm), Thousand-Armed Avalokiteshvara (rescuing beings from the hell realm), Horse-Headed Avalokiteshvara (rescuing beings from the animal realm), Eleven-Faced Avalokiteshvara (rescuing beings from the Asura realm), Cundi Avalokiteshvara (rescuing beings from the human realm), and Cintamani-cakra Avalokiteshvara (rescuing beings from the heavenly realm). It has one thousand arms, each with an eye in its palm. In sculptures and paintings, it is usually depicted with forty, thirty-six, twenty-four, or eighteen arms.

Guanyin originated in India, and in Thailand she is called "Me Guanyin" (咩), meaning "mother." Originally a male figure, Guanyin was transformed into a dignified and compassionate female image after being introduced to China, symbolizing mercy. Guanyin is often depicted wearing white robes, holding a willow branch, a vase, or a fish basket, and may also have a thousand arms and a thousand eyes. Guanyin is a great bodhisattva who saves all sentient beings, listening with compassion to their suffering and prayers. Whenever sentient beings suffer and cry out for help, kneeling before Guanyin, they will receive assistance.
