[Ajarn Bian's introduction]
Ajarn Phin, a national treasure of Southern Thailand, is a disciple of Ajarn Batt of Wat Khao Oo. He is invited to participate in blessing amulets at many grand ceremonies. Born in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, he received his monastic vows in the Chauat district of Nakhon Si Thammarat and later ordained at Wat Don Sala in Phatthalung Province, where he studied magic and scriptures. Ajarn Phin was also very interested in learning how to prepare and process herbal medicines, especially for treating difficult ailments. He inherited all of Ajarn Batt's knowledge, all the magic of Wat Khao Oo, and all the long-standing treatment formulas. The use of glutinous rice and oil was also taught to him by Ajarn Batt, making him Ajarn Batt's last successor. Ajarn Phin practiced silence at Wat Khao Oo for nearly five years to purify his mind and body. In his youth, Ajarn Phin inherited and practiced all the rituals, ancient medicine preparations, and the use of glutinous rice and oil from the Wat Khao Oo lineage. Now 80 years old, the master no longer makes medicine because the ingredients are increasingly difficult to find and prepare. However, he still uses glutinous rice and oil. Regarding magic, Ajarn Bian believes it is a mysterious mechanism, a mechanism for mental concentration, a way to improve the mind, and a way to reflect on what is "good." If we cannot concentrate our minds and experience confusion and contradictions, it's because something has not been eliminated. Like the ancient method of making medicine, using glutinous rice and oil, everyone experiences mental concentration and can cultivate goodness. Through rituals, the impure mind cannot produce evil thoughts; immersing oneself in the ritual can also wash away bad luck to some extent! Furthermore, Ajarn Bian believes that the rituals of magic are not deception, so they should not be despised because of disbelief; rituals originate from people's faith. Ordinary people, important figures, or even those living in large houses in the city—anyone who wants to succeed, in any aspect, can receive help through the master's assistance.
