Achan Toh was born during the reign of King Rama I of Bangkok on Thursday , April 17 , 2331 B.E. Master Yazendo is actually of Thai royal blood. After the birth of Master, Master's father was separated from his wife and children due to war, and Master was raised by his mother. He grew up in the homes of ordinary people since he was a child. After the master was born, his mother took the master to Chuban Lin Tuban Buddhist Temple to ask Master Luang Phor Chu to bless him. Luang Phor Chu picked him up and said that the master is a person who has a relationship with the Buddha, and he is very smart. He will definitely become a great master in the future. The wise and the powerful.
When Master Ajahn Toh was 17 years old, Master Luang Phor Rong knew that Ajahn Toh was quick-witted and was a rare and good material, so he recommended Ajahn Toh to study with Master Luang Phor Na at the Wat Lakhang Temple. Luang Phor Na was one of the ten Somdej monks in Thailand at that time. Master Luang Phor Na was very happy to see Master Ajahn Doh after his travels, and he personally performed the ordination ceremony for him and became an official novice. The master's practice was subsequently taken over by King Rama II of the Bangkok dynasty,
So he summoned Ajando and asked him to come to the palace to preach. However, after listening to Ajahn Doh's explanation of the Dharma, some of the problems that he had accumulated in his heart were resolved. This time , the " Emperor II " was full of admiration for Azando.
In the year 2351 of the Buddhist calendar , when Master Ajahn Duo was 20 years old, Master Long Pona introduced Master Ajahn Dao to another master. This master was extraordinary, he was the famous monk king at that time - Chongdi Sugaitian . The temple of Somdej Sugai Tim is also in Bangkok, called Mahatha Temple, where the " Second Emperor " personally held the ordination ceremony for the master. Since then, the master has become a monk wearing a yellow cassock.
When Rama III of the Bangkok Dynasty was in power, the three emperors had already heard about Ajahn Do's extensive knowledge, so he canonized Ajahn Do as Zhao Po Khun Pathe (meaning the senior elder among the monks, and the general jurisdiction covers the whole country). scope). But Ajando did not go to take this position, but adopted the method of avoidance, traveling around and living the life of an ascetic. (This kind of ascetic monk, barefoot for alms, one meal a day, all vegetarian, not sticking to money, power, and using difficult cultivation methods to increase his own cultivation) During this period, he traveled for decades, and his footprints spread all over the country, wherever he went. Wherever he has been, there will be stories of him circulating locally. Somdejwara Geng Amulet is also scattered around this time period.
In 2395 B.E. , when Ajahn Doh was 64 years old, he was no longer fit to travel, so he returned to Valagen . At this time, Rama IV, once again canonized him as " Zhaopo Khunpathe " . This time he did not refuse, but accepted the position. In the same year, Ajahn Duo was canonized as the presiding elder of the Varakang Temple.
In 2397 B.E. , Ajahn Doh was 66 years old.
At this time, Ajahn Do was in poor health, but the " Fourth Emperor " still entrusted the delivery of the " V Emperor " to Ajahn Do, asking Ajahn Do to teach him the Dharma and Buddhism. In 2411 of the Buddhist calendar , when Ajando was 80 years old, the 19 -year-old " Five Emperor " ascended the throne. The whole country is busy with the new king's ascension. Azando is no exception. Together with other eminent monks, he is responsible for the production of 84,000 amulets to be used on the day of the ceremony. (These 84,000 amulets are the existing amulet in the pagoda of the Jade Buddha Temple , and a small amount has entered the market. Commonly known as " Jade Buddha Temple 2411" ) With the joint efforts of all, the Buddhist calendar 2411 November 11th at 11:11 in the morning second. The enthronement ceremony went smoothly. This contains a lot of hard work of Ajahn. In this celebration, Azando also spent too much energy.
On June 22 , 2415 of the Buddhist calendar , at 12:00 on Saturday night , the master passed away by sitting cross-legged. After the master passed away, the whole country, both the common people and the princes and nobles, were immersed in sorrow and pain. People mourned the passing of this great master.
